The Climate Reality Project, headed by Maggie Fox (aka Mrs. Mark Udall), compared global warming to terrorism in a Tuesday fundraising appeal

The Climate Reality Project is showing once again that it’s full of CRaP.  Which doesn’t exactly come as a raging shock to Cheap Seats, but this time Mrs. Sen. Mark Udall, aka CRaP chief Maggie Fox, has gone over the top.

CRaP sent out a fundraising letter (It has to do so frequently to make payroll. Fox pulls down $250 large a year, after all, nearly $100k more than her senator hubby) that goes like this, seriously.

“Just as the global threat of terrorism united our country in the last decade, it is imperative that the American people rally behind the President in supporting these initiatives to dramatically reduce the 90 million tons of carbon pollution that is dumped into our atmosphere each day — pollution that has already cost this nation hundreds of billions of dollars in direct costs to our businesses, our homes, and our way of life.”

Cheap Seats has to go through this bit by manipulative bit.

“Just as the global threat of terrorism united our country in the last decade…”

Really? Cheap Seats remembers a relentless campaign of vilification of George W. Bush by the likes of Fox and Al Gore, patron saint of CRaP.  So the notion that America’s ProgLuddites got on board in the War on Terror is, well, crap. But there’s a lot of that in the missive.

“[I]t is imperative that the American people rally behind the President in supporting these initiatives to dramatically reduce the 90 million tons of carbon pollution that is dumped into our atmosphere each day — pollution that has already cost this nation hundreds of billions of dollars in direct costs to our businesses, our homes, and our way of life.”

So Cheap Seats is hearing CRaP saying that coal – the prime source of electricity in the United States – is the equivalent of al Qaeda.

Really?

“[P]ollution that has cost this nation hundreds of billions of dollars…”

Where does CRaP think the hundreds of billions of dollars came from?

But wait, there’s more!

CRaP goes on to say that Obama’s plan for international leadership, well we can hardly go on.

This is the same guy who spies on his own people, sics the IRS on his domestic political enemies and gets the ol’ international raspberry from not one but two tinpot dictators in the same week as they roll out the red carpet for Edward Snowden who’s going to provide global leadership.

Well, maybe 6,000 Germans gathered at the Brandenburg Gate still believe, but that’s about the upper limit and they don’t know yet they’ve been registered in Obama’s facial-recognition database.

“Preparing the nation for climate-related disasters.”

You know, like hot temperatures in the summer. And as we all know, there were no hurricanes before 2000, no blizzards either.

Hey, it’s not known as CRaP for nothing.

Here’s the big question for Coloradans.

Mark Udall says he has no problem with the president’s end-run around Congress and he thinks Obama’s plans are just fine.

Hmmm. Cheap Seats wonders — does he also share his wife’s view that global warming is the new terrorism?  Was Osama bin Laden “King Coal” in a clever disguise?
