Cheap Seats finds it pretty interesting that Congressman Jared Polis dropped his lawsuit aimed at halting a hydraulic fracturing job next door.
Suit, you ask?
Well, as we all know, the world revolves around Polis. If you don’t believe Cheap Seats on that score, just ask his attorneys. They’re the ones who filed and then withdrew Polis’ lawsuit – which was described as “unfounded” and “completely without merit” by Sundance Energy.
Polis sued to halt hydraulic fracturing not on his own property, but on land across the street from what was termed Polis’ “weekend getaway” in Weld County.
Well, Cheap Seats certainly wouldn’t want to see Polis inconvenienced by people trying to make a living or produce a valuable resource for working class stiffs like us. After all, Weekend Getaway Jared is the important person here.
Polis decided to withdraw his suit before a judge could rule on it, but the story isn’t over. Being Polis, he reserved the option to refile his junk lawsuit. He wouldn’t want the neighbors to think he wasn’t watching them, after all.
No word on whether Polis is picking up the legal bills for the opposing side (bills he caused to be sent), or whether he plans to recuse himself from voting on future fracking-related legislative proposals. Cheap Seats thinks that would probably be the ethical thing to do, but we aren’t holding our breath.
